Give the bay its own day
The tour runs from around midday until after dark, which rules out pairing Phang Nga Bay with anything else that day. Block the whole day for it and keep the one before or after light — you'll come back with enough energy for dinner nearby, not much more.
Phi Phi Islands, the other classic full day
Phuket's other well-known full-day boat trip runs south to the Phi Phi Islands — a different island group entirely, with its own beaches, viewpoints and boat traffic, distinct from Phang Nga Bay's limestone hongs. Travellers with several days often treat the two as separate full-day trips rather than trying to combine them into one impossibly long day at sea.
Old Phuket Town, in smaller pieces
A half-day covers Phuket Town's Sino-Portuguese shophouses, markets and street food comfortably — it doesn't need its own full slot. Tack it onto the morning you land, the hours before a flight home, or an evening once the boat's back in.
The Big Buddha and Wat Chalong
Phuket's hilltop Big Buddha and the island's best-known temple, Wat Chalong, are both easily seen in a half-day and pair naturally with each other, giving a land-based counterpart to a day spent entirely on boats and in canoes.
Spacing the long days out
Running several full-day excursions on one Phuket trip works better spaced out than stacked — this tour runs late into the evening and a Phi Phi Islands day starts early, so put a properly easy day between the two on purpose rather than leaving it to chance.
A beach day, deliberately left unplanned
Phuket's west-coast beaches need no booking and no itinerary of their own, which makes an unplanned beach day the easiest way to balance out two long boat tours without needing to plan a third big day around them.
